To supplement the construction grant of 745,000 EURO from Bread For The World, a gift of $25,000 US was received to complete the electrification of all the buildings of the ISTM. This facilitates a good internet connection for staff and students. The solar panels and batteries were purchased and installed and the whole campus was wonderfully connected to power all day and all night until the system was struck by lightning in spite of large lightning rods. The regulator was ruined. Two new ones were ordered for $4000 US each from China but did not make the system run. Now it has been recommended that the ISTM purchase a higher quality regulator from Europe. In the meantime they are using the generator that was part of the original installation.
